WOW......it is finally here and pictures will be coming this week! I am proud of what I have accomplished, but know I could have done a little better in the cardio arena. You see, cardio is very difficult for me to do as I get extremely bored. I sit on the damn StairMaster and literally count the seconds as I stay in the same place minute after minute. I can say I did pretty well with sugar and alcohol consumption as these were the two things I wanted to focus on the most. I probably chose the wrong time to do this challenge, because it was finals week and mothers day celebrations were endless. But is there ever a wrong time to do any challenge? I think we get down on ourselves for not perfecting the time we had to complete something, but I can say I am proud for taking the leap. Have you ever felt this way? Have you ever been too afraid to start something because you thought you couldn't finish?
Here is a great way to assess your progress during any challenge........
INTENSITY - When you are working out do you go into it with a "hoorah" attitude. Is your heart rate up, or do you have your cell phone close by to take selfies and answer business calls?
ATTITUDE - Are you excited about what your doing? Are you doing this challenge for yourself or is someone else motivating you to change? Make sure your are invigorated and uplifted whenever you start a challenge. Being a little scared is ok too, as long as it does not deter you from trying.
CONSISTENCY - No matter what you set out to do, ALWAYS be consistent. Even if you do not decide to do a challenge and want to just increase your times per week at the gym, stick with it. Start with two days a week for four weeks and then maybe up it to three days per week. Your goal does not have to be enormous in order to create change. We want to create a healthy habit, not a "have to" situation.
