Throw Away the Scale!




DO YOU ALWAYS RELY ON YOUR SCALE TO SAY "YES YOUR FAT." OR "YES YOUR SKINNY."????

The interesting part in me making this video is I am not a huge part 2 person, however, body image is what people struggle with most. I do not think it is so much the way people look as much as it is what we are comparing ourselves to. You see when I think of me weighing 185lbs, almost 200Lbs, I could easily freak out. Now if your like most people your probably going to tell me its because I'm tall. BUT, if you look at the BMI chart I'm actually considered overweight. I know, I thought it was crazy too! If you watch the video you can see I'm clearly not the "unhealthy overweight" this calculator is making me out to be. So why do people freak out so much over scale weight? Well, in actuality it makes a lot of sense. The lower the number the smaller you are! Right? Well yes and no.....................

You see most people know muscle weighs more than fat and if you didn't know well now you do! It is a very difficult concept for people to understand and many become quite emotional when there body is changing but the scale is not. What we want to look at is our bodies fat percentage. While the caliper and electrical impedence method is not 100% accurate it at least gives you a baseline of where to start! You can go to a local gym and ask one of the trainers to do it for you. If you want, after you do the fat test feel free to message me and we can talk about ways to decrease the number!!

This is precisely why we should look at the scale weight. We should look at the definition on our bodies and what we think is acceptable. Have you ever thought about just looking in the mirror and using that as judgement to your progress? Or maybe even taking some pictures over a course of 3,6, and 9 months.We are all beautiful, but we all have a certain shape we want to achieve. So get up and get moving, only you can do it.
