DAY 3: Who Am I? What am I doing? Why do we care?

Hello Again! Today the cravings started to kick in and well I managed to quickly down as much water as possible and occupy myself with school work and my new little puppy. I plan on not writing too much about my quirky habits today, as I am sure a lot of you would like to know who the heck I am and what I strive to do with this blog and future blogs. I broke it down slightly in my Day 1 post, but I plan to make things a little more crystal clear for you now. So here we go!

About me:

I have been a personal trainer for about 6 years and am about to graduate May 2015 with  a BS in Health Science. I have been certified through NASM and NESTA and am currently up to date with my Sports Performance, NCCPT, TRX Certification, and CPR. I am currently working on my personal fitness brand and hope to one day get my masters in anesthesiology or maybe even go to med school. I was a competitive swimmer from the ages of 6 to 20 and then found my passion in the training industry. In my opinion, one of the main things this industry is lacking is realness. What do I mean by this? With all the millions of diets, routines, books, and personal trainers in the world................what is someone to do who has no knowledge of fitness? Who are they supposed to believe?

My Fitness Approach:

My approach is not using the language of anatomy, physiology, and bio mechanics to confuse the general population, but rather gift them a broken down version which is easy to understand. I am not here to prove anyone wrong, but I do have enough experience to know what has worked and what has not worked. I am not here to write you a meal plan and give you one exercise routine and pray you get your dream body seamlessly surfing the net for how to do proper form. I am here to teach you how to incorporate a fit and healthy lifestyle into the one you already have. Unless you are trying to do a competition or are a model (which I specialize in as well), then fitness and nutrition can be a lot more fun than you think! Hopefully this gives you a little more insight on my mission here and in future blogs!

Back to the quirkiness............................

What do I do when I have cravings? Well I eat Strawberries or maybe some dark dark chocolate :) In any diet you want to try and eat blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries. If you are like me in that lower carb diets help you lose fat fastest, then these berries are a quick way to get your sweet without the high carb number attached to it. For those who are curious, my carb goal is to stay under 100grams, yes this includes fruits!!

As for a quick lunch, my go to is Chipotle or Qdoba! I get a naked bowl (so cute) with brown rice, double chicken, pico, a little cheese, and guacamole. Add a little pepper and mix up the goodness!! I have also taken this home and wrapped it in lettuce................SCRUMPTIOUS!

Tomorrow I will give a sample workout of how I kill it in the gym!! Fill free to ask me any questions you might have!!
