Artificial Sweeteners.....Settled once and for all!!

GOOOD AFTERNOON!

I say this to you as I am putting my organic stevia into my third cup of coffee for the day. Yes I drink caffeine.......I sure admire those who do not have to follow this daily ritual. Do I have my late night cravings for chocolate pudding? YES. But I definitely use the sugar free version because this is what is going to help me achieve that slender physique todays MAXIM model had. Totally kidding. I just love chocolate and well I am going to find a way to get it. So then we reach the question of are artificial sweeteners good for you? Do they actually sabotage your weight loss efforts? Are there any good ones? Is there even any SCIENCE behind them? Well lets see what I came up with..........

Point #1 - Moderation

So artificial sweeteners are obviously not the best for you, after all if we use common sense "artificial" is not something we want to continually put in your body. Would I rather have you drink a half can of diet soda rather than a full can of regular soda? You darn right I would. The controversy with these fake sugars is scientists study them down to the molecular level and research the short and long term affects they have on the body systems. Like with anything, if you use too much for too long, don't be surprised if you start to feel the adverse affects.

Point #2 - Weight Loss

In my professional opinion, YES, these sweeteners do help with weight loss. Many studies have shown how when using sugar free products people experienced more significant weight loss than when they did not use them. So is it better to have your sugar free and lose weight or try to be 150% organic, no sugar, and munch on cucumbers all day? Honestly it is up to you. I try to limit my sugar free foods, but sometimes nature calls and I need it :) At the end of the day if you can significantly decrease the fat on your body and lower your risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer then by all means use it to HELP you, but in moderation.

Point #3 - Stevia

I am all about this plant based sugar free alternative. I do recommend you buy it from a whole foods store in organic form. There are many different variations of stevia, so make sure you are getting the complete plant and not just partial use. This is a great choice for diabetics and is a million times sweeter than regular sugar (exaggerated)! If you want to know why splenda, equal, and sweet n low are HORRIBLE options leave a comment and I will be more than happy to answer!

Point #4 - Honey

At the end of the day we want to put as much whole food in our body as we possibly can. Honey is antiviral, antibacterial, and nourishing for the body. It is a great way to sweeten up any treat and stay away from some of the harsh chemicals of artificial sweeteners. You must find what works for you!

ENJOY!!! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me! Stay strong my friends!!
